Mendoza is one of the centers of winegrowing in Argentina and thus also often referred to as sun-city or city of good wines. It lives up to both expectations. The city is located in the east of Anden Mountain range and is not only renowned for its excellent wines but also for its beautiful surroundings and its safety. After a severe earthquake, which destroyed large parts of town, it was rebuilt in 1861, leaning heavily on the current European architecture. Even though Mendoza houses 1.1 million residents it still conveys a very relaxed flair, a city in which visitors can stroll along green parks and streets and enjoy the tranquility.

With its diverse nature- and leisure activities, Mendoza has long been in the center of tourist attention in Argentina. Skiing possibilities, wild rivers, smooth valleys and hills offer perfect conditions for winery as well as any kind of vacation you might prefer. Approximately 80 miles south from Mendoza you have the opportunity to do any kind of water sport you might imagine – anything from wind surfing, fishing or waterskiing, to rafting or kayaking is possible. In close proximity to Mendoza you will also find the national park San Martin, which features an astounding biota as well as the Americas highest mountain, the Aconcagua (6959 meters). The mountain pass via Los Andes, Santiago and Valparaiso provides easy access for traveling to Chile.
