Quality comes first - how we select our schools
Many agencies just go for the commission paid by the schools. That doesn't work out for us. As we receive many bookings by recommendation of former customers it is crucial for us that our customers are 100% satisfied. We are transparent and honest with original prices you would also receive when directly booking with the school. This are our criterias:
Perfect school size in order to learn a lot and to meet people
Our language schools have the perfect size. If they were too big you would feel like just a number and not easily make friends there. If they are too small it is nice and personal, but the problem are the courses. SInce teachers are a big cost factor many small schools save cost here. That means for the students, that they might sit in one class together with a professional advanced or a complete beginner. The advanced student always wants to speed up while the beginner doesn't understand anything. That's why the size of the language school matters a lot to us and why we go for the Linguland Perfect Size.
Course offer and group size
Different objectives requiere different courses. We check our schools for an offer of various standard courses and some special courses for test preparation or certificates, like TOEFL, DELE or the Cambridge Exams. Not all language schools offer all these courses, but also very specialized courses can be found somewhere in our program.
Teaching quality - memberships in associations
There are several language school associations in the world that check the quality of a school and issue a certification to the school. Some of them are very easy to get, a small pile of money sometimes is already enough. We Linguland people know the good and the easy associations. We look for the good ones, which take the quality check seriously and do not take every school into their program. Examples for good associations are Instituto Cervantes in Spain, IALC (worldwide), British Council (UK), English Australia (Australia) and many more.
Price: cheap to medium
We generally select the school that meets our quality criterias at the best price. Many of our language schools are quite cheap, but usually they are located in the lower middle. But all of them match our Linguland quality, as described on this page. You will never find really expensive schools on our page, as the small extra value in quality usually isn't worth the extra money paid for it. This selection criteria ensures that Linguland Language Schools are always the best choice with best value for money.
Good nationality mix
The more different nationalities the better, if distributed in a good ratio. Some of our competitors send so many students from their country to the contracted language school that these students are a big overall part. Linguland has a different approach. We are big as well but we send students from all over the world, which creates a great international experience in our schools and helps to learn a new language much easier.
Host family standards
Are the families visited and checked on a regular base? Can a family be changed in case of problems? Are the families personally known and flexible with special requierements as handycaps, allergies or special food requests? We explicitly ask for that points and check examples because accomodation is a highly important issue for us and for your overall satisfaction.
Leisure time activities
A language course is more fun if the afternoons can be spent together with other language students. We check the quality and quantity of the leisure time activities offer and talk to the activities coordinator of the school. All Linguland language schools offer their activities for free, only exceptional daytrips, theatre visits or other specials are charged seperately.
Professional administration in the language schools in order to avoid problems
Processes and administration are other important criteria. We test if the school has host family and leisure time coordinators or if they work with agencies. If they have own staff it is a signal of quality for us, because problems can be solved easily.
