CILS - Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera

CILS - Preparatory course for the CILS exam at the university of Siena. The exam fees will be charged seperately.

The CILS certificate (Certificate for Italian as a Foreign Language) has 4 levels depending on the knowledge of the Italian language.The CILS was conceived by the University of Siena and nowadays it is accepted as a standard of high quality. The first CILS Test corresponds to the level B1: you can take this exam even though you are not an advanced speaker. The levels 2 to 4 are for advanced speakers and are accepted by italian universities as the condition in order to be able to study there. Generally speaking all CILS certificates are recognized by the government. Please ask at the organisation you are amming to apply to which certifacate you will need. You recommend you to take a preparatory course in order to lean the strategies related to the CILS exam. You can be examined in more than 100 officially recognized institutions on certain dates.

The CILS examination is subdivided into several subject areas. You can be examined in all or just specific subject areas: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, writing, speaking, grammar and vocabulary. You can practice these areas by taking a preparatory course which will improve your level and help you to understand the strategies of the exam.
