Students can study in any month of the year at our Whistler English school. From May to November, students can choose to study in the Part-Time (13.75h/w) , Full-time (20h/w) Intensive (30h/w) courses. In the winter, students have the option to combine their ESL classes with snowboarding or skiing. The English Plus Ski and Snowboard Programs include 13.75 or 20 hours of English instruction, 12.5 hours of professional skiing or snowboarding training, and 2.5 hours of free skiing/riding per week, on the world-class mountains of Whistler and Blackcomb. The ski/snowboarding instruction and weekday lift passes are included in your tuition costs. Also popular is course combining English classes with the Canadian Ski / Snowboard Instructors' Certification. Students who want to live and study in Whistler but do not want to ski and snowboard everyday can take the "English Only" program. Students studying English at our Whistler English school come primarily from Japan, Korea, Argentina and Switzerland, and to a lesser extent from Brazil, Russia, Denmark, Mexico, Colombia and Spain. Our language school in Whistler has a strict "English Only" policy, which means that students are required to speak English only while in the school and on activities. This rule and the friendly atmosphere at our language school encourages students to get to know the students of other nationalities and thus learn English faster as they practice it with their new friends. All language teachers are experienced and certified English instructors with university degrees and a minimum of one year English teaching experience. Both the teachers and the staff believe that working is more than just a job, it is an experience that they really enjoy, every day. The staff at our Whistler school care about every student and are always there to help students, to answer questions, and to make students feel welcome. Your teachers at our language school in Whistler Blackcomb will do more than teach you English, they will also become your friends! Language school Whistler: AccommodationHomestay - Homestay students are placed with carefully selected Canadian families that offer a secure and friendly environment. Students are provided with a private bedroom, bathroom facilities, meals and contact with English speaking Canadians every day. The host family provides basic information on how to function in Canada such as: how to use the bus system to go to and from school, where to shop, and how to get to the local library, bank, recreation centre and pharmacy. As Whistler is such a popular ski resort with more hotels than homes, the number of available host families in Whistler is limited and most offer only double room accommodation. Therefore, students will be assigned to single room accommodation on a first-come-first-served basis and may be advised that for the dates they have selected, only double room accommodation is available. Hotels - Although we recommends Homestay accommodation to students wanting to enjoy the full Canadian cultural experience, Whistler has many other options for accommodation. Students who are interested in hotel, hostel or B&B accommodation can contact us for list of these other accommodation options, which can be quite expensive in the high season (December to May).
Language school Whistler: Leisure ActivitiesAlthough many students think of skiing and snowboarding when they think of activities in Whistler, there are many other exciting activities to do in Whistler, especially between May and October. Whistler offers world-class rock-climbing, golf, hiking, mountain biking, tennis and kayaking opportunities. The less sports inclined students enjoy museum tours, shopping, dancing, yoga, art classes, pub nights, live theatre, movies and music concerts all year round. In the spring and early summer, students can ski one day and golf the next! On the weekends students often take part in our organized excursions to Vancouver where they enjoy sightseeing, professional sport matches, shopping and great nightlife.
